Senior Spotlight | Makaela

Tell us a little about yourself!!!

I'm currently a senior at Sumner High. Next year, I'm planning on going to the University of Montana, and study history. In the future, I hope to travel the world, and eventually teach. My hobbies including reading, painting (even though I'm not very good lol), and spending time with my friends. If you're into astrology, I'm a virgo which I think pretty much sums me up as a person.

If someone was trying to decide if they should get senior photos or not, what would you tell them?

Senior photos totally something you should do. Your senior year is a marking point in your life. It's the ending of you 12 years of educations and the beginning of the unknown. After this year, you may go to college, or the military, or who knows. These photos will be something you'll cherish in the future and it'll be fun to loopback and see how you've grown as a person.

What should you look for in your senior photographer?

When looking for a photographer you should find someone who's photography style you like. You should also find a photographer who feel comfortable around.

What did you do to prep for your session? Personally, I didn't really have an idea of what I wanted to do for my senior pictures. Luckily Alexis helped me figure out what would be best for me and that fit my personality.

What did you do to prep for your session? I spent hours on Pinterest for fashion inspo. And had a good cup of coffee.

What was your senior session like? Alexis and I went to a field in Enumclaw in the Fall time. The scenery was gorgeous and we had a blast. Alexis is the type of person that anyone could like instantly and she can make you feel comfortable ini any situation. She helped me not feel so awkward posing and get into the groove of the photoshoot. We went to another location and shot some there too. Overall, it was as blast.

What are you looking forward to during your senior year? I'm really looking forward to my senior season of lacrosse. I've been playing since 8th grade and I don't plan on playing in college, so it's going to be a bittersweet ending for me.

What are you looking forward to next year?

Next year I can't wait for the freedom to do what I want. Don't get me wrong, I love my parents, but I can't wait to be on my own. I've always valued my individuality, and next year I can finally do whatever I want.

What advice do you have to give to the rising seniors? I know it sounds cheesy and everyone says it, but enjoy it. This year goes by so fast and you won't expect it to be over so soon.

What has been the best part of being an Alexis Gerimonte senior spokesmodel? So many things! First, meeting Alexis. She is honestly like an older sister to me and I know that we'll be friends for a long time. Secondly, the girls that I met because of being a spokesmodel. Many of the girls on the team I knew beforehand, but we just got a lot closer. Lastly, the pictures. We've been taking pictures since the beginning of senior year. Right now I'm half way through my senior year, and I look totally different from how I did at the beginning of the year. Alexis has been able to capture my growth throughout the year.
